Ranking Aussie business like a boss

May 13, 2015 By Social Profile 8 Comments

If your small business is being outranked by non-relevant search results above your own it’s time fight back. Our current updated list gives you a substantial boost, free.

Small business needs all the help they can get these days when it comes to having their products and services ranked relevantly in their local area. With Google’s ever expanding paid Adwords Ads results filling up the highly prized top 3 positions it can be hard to get your organic listing on the front page- even if it’s most probably the most relevant result. As Google’s algorithm evolves and an even higher emphasis on is placed on paid results increases, now has never been a better time to give your local Australian business a boost it needs.

The team at Social Profile have put together what we think is the easiest way to give your site a boost in your Search Engine Ranking Position (SERPs) in Australia and more importantly, locally. Let’s get started.

So what is a backlink?

A backlink is merely a hyperlink from one website to another. For example, if your website has a link on a business web directory site (like the ones below) this creates a backlink. Search engines rank your website using a number of factors, with contextual, local, backlinks (and in some cases the number of) easily being the most important factors in deciding how relevant and significant it is.

You probably already see how important backlinks are to online businesses by the amount of junk you receive through comments on your own website posts (if you haven’t got adequate anti-spam protection in place). All those “opinions” from Viagra and fake LV handbags sellers are an attempt to get their link (backlink) onto your site in order to get search engines to rank them higher.

Put simply- The more quality links pointing back to your site the better.

All of the accounts below need to be created and your business details entered. Now is also a good time to think up any keywords you’d like Google to see and start generating traffic for those locally. Make sure you have all these details at hand in another open document you can simply ‘cut & paste’ from to speed up the submission process.

All the below Australian Business Directory Listing sites offer you an important backlink, space to upload a logo, address and other important information for free- So what are you waiting for?

The only downside to better improved Australian Search Engine Rankings is the possibility of the service directory owner trying to upsell you with either paid priority listings and other services or the odd spam email but hey- listing with them is free and most certainly provides a much-needed boost to your local search results.

If you know of an Australian local business directory or database list you think could help other local Australian businesses with their SERPs why not leave a comment and tell us?

This is the only real downside to using these services. Without a doubt still worth the ranking juice they give.
